FAQ

-Who created this website?

This website was created and designed by the EU Police Mission in order to prompt citizens to join their police in the fight against crime.

-Who receives my report? Who reads it?

Your report is directly sent to a secure room at the headquarters of the EU Police Mission. International police officers will read and dispatch your information to the competent police authorities. They will then also monitor further proceedings.

-How can I be sure that all information is kept confidential? Would it be possible for someone to track me down?

No. The EU Police Mission ensures total confidentiality.

What should I absolutely not forget to mention when I write my report?

When filing your report, try to be as factual as possible, avoiding any interpretations or impressions. In order to help the police effectively it is important that you report as many details and facts as possible.

Basically, you should answer the following questions:

When did the crime occur or is it planned to occur?
Where did the crime occur or is it planned to occur?
What happened/is planned to happen?
How did the person who committed/who is planning the crime look?

-Who will process the information that I report via Krimolovci?

As soon as the EU Police Mission has assessed the information, it is forwarded to the competent police authorities for further investigations. The EU Police mission then also monitors further proceedings.

-Is Krimolovci an emergency line?

No. Krimolovci offers you the possibility to share information with your police anonymously and free of charge, and to thereby contribute to public safety and the overall fight against crime. If you need urgent police assistance, you should dial 122!

-Which number should I call in case of an emergency?

You should call 122!

-Can I also use this website to complain about a police officer’s behaviour?

This is not a complaint website. If you want to file a complaint, you should contact your closest public complaint bureau. (Link to PCBs)

-What kind of crime can I report to the Krimolovci website?

You can report all kinds of committed or planned criminal activities, from the pettiest to the most severe form of organized crime.

-I have filed information about a suspect to Krimolovci. Yet, the suspect is still walking around freely. Is this normal?

The information you report via Krimolovci is very important to us. It may help us gather evidence about a particular suspect or group of suspects. Yet, this does not mean that the police can arrest these persons immediately. It may take longer to gather the whole chain of evidence needed to arrest a person.
